Drought Alert
Right now, Southern Nevada is under a Drought Alert.  The Colorado River is facing the worst drought in history and Lake Mead's water level has dropped more than 100 feet since January 2000.

Las Vegas Valley is taking the lead in declining water use.  Despite the influx of business and residential components into Southern Nevada, our consumptive water use has declined nearly 18 billion gallons from 2002 and 2006.

What You Can Do
Augusta Lawn & Green is doing its part and so can you.  Even with strict water restrictions did you know that the Las Vegas Valley is home to some striking plants that are well adapted to arid, desert landscapes? If you weren't born here, then you may remember that when you first moved to Las Vegas, you attempted to grow the plants you had back home. But unless you relocated from another desert community, you probably noticed that your plants required constant vigilance, and ridiculous amounts of water.

Why not avoid the frustration and let Augusta Lawn & Green plant what works! There are a ton of plants that grow naturally in any North American Desert. Here’s a list of plants Augusta Lawn & Green uses to create masterful desert and tropical landscapes: Agaves, Birds of paradise, Mesquite, Rosemary, Aloes, Ocotillo, Creosote bush, Desert willow, Cacti, Desert spoon, Yuccas and Palms.

SNWA Rebate
As a property owner, the SWNA offers a rebate to convert real grass to xeriscape or artificial turf.  SNWA will rebate customers $2 per square foot of grass removed and replaced with xeriscape for the first 1,500 square feet. Conserving water is everyone’s responsibility.  For more information on water resources and rebates please visit the Southern Nevada Water Authority at www.snwa.com
